SunnySunny Sultan, Harm Reduction Worker and Activist: Sunny has been an active member of the Harm Reduction community for the past 5 years. He has studied philosophy at the University of Toronto, and is returning to U of T for continuing education. He currently works at Street Health, and Queen West Community Health Centre. Sunny has a broad perspective of the harm reduction field, specifically the overdose crisis, which has claimed the lives of people were very close to his heart. Seeing the effects of the toxic drug supply and the lack of meaningful governmental response drives Sunny’s passion for Drug User Rights and his work to support the health and well-being of People Who Use Drugs. Sunny has worked collaboratively with Harm Reduction workers and activists, community leaders in Harm Reduction, as well as physicians, social workers, and nurses to dismantle the systems of harm that prevent accessible and appropriate care for PWUDs, and to rebuild better systems for a better future for the community that he loves.
