This study examined the influence of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) on Black sexual minority women’s mental health and substance use disorders in adulthood.
Black sexual minority women with ACEs are at higher risk for mental health concerns throughout their lifespan and maladaptive coping strategies (e.g., substance use).
Secondary data analysis was conducted using N = 149 Black sexual minority women’s reports from the Generations Study.
