L’objectif

This rapid review sought to summarize the retention rates reported by randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and controlled observational study designs that compared methadone to buprenorphine (or buprenorphine-naloxone).

Constatations/points à retenir

The mean weighted retention rate and 95% confidence interval (CI) for studies with follow-up periods between 4 and 6 months using buprenorphine was 57.3% (95% CI = 53.5%, 61.1%) and using methadone was 65.5% (95% CI = 60.5%, 70.5%).
